FWLR Rod's return

Post by Peter Butler » Tue Sep 11, 2018 9:43 pm

Just a quick note to explain why FWLR Rod hasn't posted recently. Anne has contacted me to say he is in hospital yet again with his recurring heart condition, aggravated by an enforced house move earlier this year and other personal issues.
He is now on the mend with revised medication and should be home soon. Rest will be crucial for his recovery so don't expect to hear too soon, however, he will return and we will see further progress on the Fairy Wood Light Railway as it happens.
All best wishes Rod..... missing your posts!

Ah, I'd wondered, thanks Peter.

Yes, do wish him well if you speak to Anne again - it'll be good to have him back...

Like many others, I'd recently begun to wonder about his absence. However, we all have an occasional break for various reasons and I assumed he was just 'having a minute'. It never occurred to me that he might have 'gone into the works'.

All the best Rod. Go steady until you're fully recovered. :thumbleft:

Firstly I would like you thank Peter for his kind words he has given me for Rod.
Has Peter as informed you, Rod is in hospital and he is progressing very well. He is now a lot more stable with his heart, but he won’t be able to do very much on building our line, although it's now been finished by my Son-in-law, if anybody knows Rod, it won’t be until he can get his hands on it.

Rod has also got himself a very nasty chest virus, which has held up his stay in hospital. The Doctors wouldn’t let him come home because it was causing him to cough violently, putting more strain on his heart.

But the good news is, he will be home this week and I have arranged a few days away, so he can recuperate quietly. He is coming home on Wednesday, so I will let him get settled in and maybe he will let everyone know how he is himself, although he will be restricted to only a very short time online. We will be going away on Thursday until Monday of next week.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts for Rod. I have been passing them on to him and I can tell you it as been very much appreciated by myself and Rod.

Thank You

Anne.

Can I thank everyone for there very kind words. Yes I have been very ill, but it isn’t something that will stop me from enjoying so much from my hobby. It is a hobby that has given me so many friends and lots of hours, days and months of enjoyment. I can tell you when I see a members or anyone’s line, I am like a little kid again.

Anne has given me so much support and has a couple of members, especially Peter Butler. I can honestly say that the words of support from you all has been emotional to say the least.

Got to go now, Anne is timing me

I hope you all have a great weekend and I will be back posting soon, although it maybe a bit erratic at times.

Thank You. :thumbright:

Wonderful to hear from you in your own words again Rod. I know there was concern about you and the Forum members gave you great support, thank you to all of them from me for joining in. Just do as you're told now and rest, I'm sure you are itching to get back to your railway but all in good time.
Still looking forward to meeting some day.
Peter.
