Is the piston plastic?

I bought a Lorry (SW1) for my Grandson and the plastic piston is a very poor fit. All the condensate blows back over the side of the cab instead of up the chimney.

Mamod have offered to look at it, but it will be easier for me to turn a new piston in brass, than pack it all up and post it back, probably at my own expense.

Edit : - Mamod appear to be offering to send a new cylinder set for me to fit.

Sorry to have missed your comment, on holiday! Glad to hear of decent customer service from Mamod. I am enjoying the debate on the tram loco on another thread. I do sense that their construction methods seem a little old school but perhaps that's part of their charm?
