That's naughty that she told you what Santa is bringing you.

No railway bits for me unless I get a surprise tomorrow!
I am grateful for the time off work so that is a good enough present for me.

Let us all know what you get tomorrow though

I had a quick go just to make sure it worked before Santa"s elves whisked it away to be wrapped and I'm quite impressed; chunky looks, very slow running ability and quite a load hauler. A bit of detailing and she'll be alright. I'll keep you posted. 😊

Maybe a kit or two, plus a bottle of liquid refreshment always goes down well.

Same as every year. A pair of socks and some chocolate. The interesting stuff I buy myself.

I got a totem that I was not expecting and an IP kit that I was.
Living in the Western Region now I don't know that I dare display something in MR maroon.

Anyone know how well these last outside? If they are a bit fragile it think it will stay side.

I am slightly concerned with the 'at rest' bit, does the Current Wife know something I don't :D

Great gift Jimbo.

I would hang it proudly in the man cave as the weather in your part of the world might ruin it as the years go by.

The LMS made it into South Wales, so 1948-1954 there would have been some LMR stuff kicking around down there, so you are OK. Our misfortunate was that between the ex-MR men who got hold of the London extension and the west end of the main line, and the GNR men who ran the Eastern Region, there wasn't much left of the Manchester and Sheffield bits of the MS&L by the time they had finished.

I ended up with reading material - a 1928 B&O RR magazine, and a paperback, a couple of growlers of my favourite liquid refreshment, and a stocking full of odds and ends. It is quite noticeable that booze, socks, and chocolate tend to predominate as one gets older.

I also got the impression that if I made a small order from HGLW would not result in hospitalisation when I mentioned it off hand this morning...

Cheers,

Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.

Santa didn't bring me any railway related items this year. After all I'm supposed to be completing unfinished projects. However he did sneak a "found" present in.

My mum thought she was buying me a pair of pyjamas, but really bought me 2 token-exchanges loops.

My wife says they are called lightbulb safety-pins for the record.

Great pics and use of those pins - I'll keep a watch out for some now.

I got a pdf models Quarry Hunslet kit - currently sanding away!
Where did I put that uncoupler?
