Spent many an hour on that footbridge in my youth watching the fish trains making their way to Sheffield and Manchester.

At risk of having my bits removed by the LNER faction, I think the 'German-style' smoke deflectors and the BR Green suit her much better than apple green.

Very nice indeed is that the Aster version?

I found this on a recent headstone in the graveyard of one of the churches in the parish today.

I was most surprised to see it as firstly we are in deepest GWR/LNW territory. Secondly, it is probably forbidden under the Church in Wales regulations regarding grave markers. It may just pass as an 'Appropriate Motif' but that is normally reserved for military or civilian decorations, logos from various voluntary service organisations (Scouts/Guides/WVS etc)

Well spotted Jim, that is a lovely piece of work and I hope it goes un-noticed by the authorities and remains there. Whoever he (she) was they were clearly enthusiastic.
