New Railway History Books

Post by SapperAnt » Wed Jun 01, 2016 8:05 pm

For those who are interested in [Standard Gauge] railway history I've several books coming out in the near future. Yay.

"The Liverpool & Manchester Railway"
A photo-led (then and now)history of the L&M from construction to opening and operation. Lots of photos of replicas and railway operation at MOSI, Manchester.

"The Woodhead Route"
Photo-led book (c130) on the first mainline between Sheffield & Manchester

"Early Railways of Manchester 1825-1850"
The first quarter century of railways in Manchester (lots of little known early companies).

I'm currently working on a monumental 100K tome "Operational History of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway 1830-1845" (to commemorate the 190th Anniversary) and a "Victorian Railwayman's Pocket Book: working on Britain's first railways 1830-1850".
