Brandbright panelled coaches

Post by paullad1984 » Wed Nov 19, 2014 2:02 pm

Does anyone have/run brandbright panelled coaches with:
a) An Accucraft Caledonia?
b) IP engineering freelance wagons?
I have an idea in mind, but want to know how they look together?

I would happily have run my Directors' Saloon with IP freelance wagons, but didn't because the two just wouldn't be seen together in the same train!

I'm just pondering on the various heights and widths of the stock in relation to the loco size as I hate seeing stock that is dwarfed by the loco and vice versa, yes I know it happened in real life, just a personal taste.

I know how you feel.

It's the beauty of the shows, being able to see things together. I have Accucraft rolling stock and often it is too wide. Now I think I will flog them off.

I have a Tom Rolt and will now try to build an Atropos coach from the Corris stock because of its size in relation to the loco. It's good to get the height and width right or else you can soon go off the beloved new coach or truck.

was toying with seeking out a 2nd hand caledonia, using brandbright pannelled coaches with IP wagons....
Had also mulled over fitting bigger wheels to the stock to bring height up....
I understand the couplings on the caledonia/IOM bey peacocks are higher than is normal for 16mm due to they're different scale?

They seem great value and the beauty of building is you can tailor these to suit your needs. I hope someone can show pics of what you want. Good luck
