Orenstein and Koppel skip in 16mm scale ?

Post by Renovater » Sat Mar 15, 2014 3:03 pm

Hi to all, my first posting here. I have recently contacted Slaters to see whether they are interested in producing an Orenstein and Koppel skip wagon in 16mm scale. This wagon could be found in the UK and was common around the world, i believe there is a market for this product and that it would sell well. I have also proposed to help them with dimensions and photos should they take the idea on. Just to let you know, thanks.

To be honest you never had a great chance with this, IMO.
Slaters already do the very similar Hudson skip wagon in 7/8" - 45mm at over 40quid and then of course the ubiquitous Binnie version in 16mm sells for less than a tenner.
So the chances of commercial success with an almost identical model would be slim, I'd have thought.

It would be good to see some different skips available. I think the Brandbright all metal Hudson skips are good if a little expensive. IP Engineering also have a new skip wagon kit. I would to see some that have the inside frames for 45mm gauge.
Cheers, Steve
