I seemed to have missed the last couple of updates and I must say, they look impressive! :)

In a word, 'wow'.

As the L&B is my favourite NG prototype I've been following this topic closely.

Have you considered making these commercially available? I'd certainly be interested in some...

Whats the best protection for wooden bogies against damp moisure and the wet especially when its ply and prone to warping.

I'm coating them in acrylic wood varnish and them painting them matte black followed by another coat of varnish. Make them water tight that way. Warping is prevented by the spacers fitted either end and centrally.
If it can be made full scale it can be made 16mm

Best bet is to pick the carriage number you want and speak to mike (Wvlr) as he is going to be making the basic boxes in kit form.

I've had IP wooden bogies under one of my carriages since it was built in 2011 and have so far not had issues with warping. The fact its wood does give them great potential to add additional detail I think (much easier to glue parts on then drill and bolt, or even solder)

Well in all my years of model railways in all scales large and small have I come across plywood bogies I'm sure if they have that much potential they would have been marketed years ago and I've not come across any manufacturer that has until IP decided this was a quicker way to make a fast buck and cheaper than white metal . 2011 is not too long ago. I think ply bogies are far too light and will surrender their limitations in time as well as paints varnishes being penetrated.

Plywood bogies would be my last choice amongst alternative materials even though I would not use them outside in wet conditions.
Laminated timber, no matter what grade, will swell and delaminate regardless of how well you think it is protected. There is always part of the material where water, even just moisture or humidity, will penetrate and cause a problem eventually.

Well they've already lasted longer then IP's Whitemetal bogies which had an awful tendency to sag in the middle...

Excellent Matt, they look great. You would not even notice the wooden bogies!

Do you reckon the supplier would consider making a smaller coach with bogies?

Colour me interested too. A short 4 compartment L&B style bogie coach which is a reasonable height behind an Accucraft locomotive would certainly appeal!
