I just bought a resin kit (flat waggon) from this vendor on eBay:

I have not had a chance to build it, but I have built several "finescale" resin kits in smaller scales.  

The castings are nice, minimial flash, well packed and good instructions.  The only "concern" is the use of resin for the wheels, that may not be the best over time.

Hopefully, with some free time at the house and some trips for work, I will get a chance to build the kit and can report on it.

I haven't purchased one of these yet but hope to in the future, I was reading the 'About Me' page ealier today, it's amazing what the bloke is doing while copeing with his illness, and his attempts to get off benefits. It's a shame that all the people across the world who sit around drinking whith no good reason not to work were putting the effort in like he is to earn a living.

It may be a good idea to have some steel wheels in them to improve the chances of it staying on the track, though if the were supplied with said steel wheels the price would be considerably larger.

Wow, I did not know that. I did read his page now and see what you mean. Not sure if I would have been able to do the same if I were in his position, and I hope this works well for him. The quality of his work and his "service" (several e-mails, asking if all was OK, checking on delivery) are above most others out there for sure!

The only thing odd I did notice from him is we would exchange e-mail at a time that would be VERY late in the UK, midnight or later at least?

My copy of 16mm Today only arrived today (just proves how our Royal Mail services varies as others had already refered to the Lady Anne for sale yesterday), and there is an article on these model kits on Page 35.

I've been looking at these kits on ebay as they are attractively priced, but it is good to read this posting as it was not obvious that the wheels are resin as well.

How well do the couplings work as the chain is mounted at the bottom of the coupling with the hook on top?

Just bought his Guards Van kit at the Merstham Steam Rally and he is now including his version 2 wheel sets with all kits. These are an iron weighted plastic composite, and he was demonstrating this by having one of his wheels held up by a magnet on his stall. he has also changed the style of the buffer & coupling, but as mine is still en-route from London Stansted airport (had to mail it to myself, as I could not carry any sharp items in my carry on hand luggage), I'll post photos of these changes once my packet arrives.

Are terrorists now resorting to using resin model 16mm rolling stock as weapons since they can't get guns, knives past the x-ray machines or dangerous 500ml bottles of water past security?

Not too clear in my posting but I was actually referring to the couplings.

Being in aviation, plus many overseas tours in the last 2 years, I've got used to security not allowing anything through. So to save any problems as I only had hand luggage (which was still free with Ryanair then, unlike the rip-off having to pay for checked in luggage) I removed all sharp items like couplings, drawing pins (buffers for Ivor the Engine kit), etc. I mailed them to myself using a jiffy padded envelope with a pre-paid post label.

Fortunately the usual lousy service from Royal Mail actually failed, and I received the padded envelope a couple of days later.

Unfortunately the new job has stopped most projects for my garden railway, including this kit. I had posted this on Pete Longfils Yahoo group asking about suitable hinges to make the doors open/close, and I would like to do a close second to his excellent job of detailing the interior.

I'll try & get a photo of the couplings as previously promised, as I see Andy has introduced another form of coupling again.
