CCT Sand Hoppers

Hi folks.
Today i took delivery of my New pieces of rolling stock.
4 Bachmann 20ton ore hoppers.

Backstory, when the CCT opened there extension to Gembrook in 1917 a year before WW1 ended the increase in sand was massive so the company built 4 sand wagons specifically for this purpose.

They look rather nice Mitch and they go well behind the loco. I must admit they are new to me. Could the knuckle couplings be replaced with out major surgery?

They remind me of the tipplers on some of the ironstone railways and to some extent those on the Snailbeach

Hi Jim speaking of the knuckle couplings they can be taken out. the three black ones have all metal chassis and wheels and the green one has plastic wheels and chassis. i plan to take the knuckle couplings off and drill a hole in them and get some Brass from my IP kits i have left over and curve the brass into a hook like the IP wagons have.
