IP brake van
Re: IP brake van
Phew - good to see him back on his feet - he'll have to guard against any similar events!
Where did I put that uncoupler?

No chance of being overcome by fumes, The PMR don't believe in heating their brake vans.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!
Re: IP brake van
Well it is finally finished. All fitted up. Dai Rhear, the guard, is on duty.
The lamp is from SLR models and is a tad bright, I may change it from using two button cells to one in order to dim it slightly. The interior is lit by a hacked about LED flickering tea light. This gives a nice, flickering oil lamp effect and shows of the inside quite nicely.
I must say that I am quite pleased with it. When the wife goes out tomorrow I will bring it in the house to warm up and give it a spray with some matt varnish, just to seal it.
Next project has been started already, watch this space.........

Nice looking vehicle Jim, when the weather looks promising we must give it a spin.

Re: IP brake van
What is the finish like from the 3D printers that SLR Models use?
The van looks pucka. Can you make me one please?

Re: IP brake van
The finish is not too bad, nothing a little gentle sanding won't sort out.
Thanks for the request, I think I will pass on that one.
I should have kept a log of the hours that went into it, I always find actually finishing a model is quite difficult. I find I have lost some enthusiasm when I can see that the end is in sight and I have to be very careful about getting a bit slap dash.

Very nice model, if I may say so.
Only just got the pun on the guard's name - brain a bit slow this evening (sorry, morning!).

I think if we kept a log of time that goes into our models we would surprise ourselves. I started my latest project in April and am just starting on the internals.

Nice looking BV!
Yes, the amount of hours is terrifying sometimes. When I was building the last line I once logged about 30 hours in a week, and much of it hard graft of the variety I can usually safely avoid in my day job. Complaints were made by Herself about being a railway widow, so I knocked it back a bit after that.
Cheers,
Peter in Va

Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.
