40 Year old Archangel Coach Kit

Post by cncmodeller » Thu Jun 29, 2017 4:28 pm

I managed to acquire 4 Archangel Coach Kits on Ebay recently at a very reasonable price which had never been built and were complete, although that was hard to ascertain from the description but I got lucky, for once.
They consist of two VOR bogie coaches, one VOR Brake Van and one 4 wheel coach. I have just completed the 4 wheeler and have tried to keep it as close to the Archangel catalogue illustration finish as possible. The parts are all very well produced and the kit was quite quick to build and the result is an exceptionally strong coach. John

It is nice seeing it built without modification; almost a time warp, and a nice "museum" piece. I am surprised it was rusty! Are you fitting inside or keeping that simple too?

I'm going to add seats later, once the other coaches are built, there was no big rust problem but interestingly the Galvanised hooks and the bearers for the wheels had a sort of white film/oxidation on them that wouldn't come off.

What a find? Lovely vintage pieces and beautifully made and finished.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

Beautiful assembly and finish paintwork, looking forward to seeing the bogie coaches.

Excellent work again. They do look like a very well produced kit, and your assembly of them is first rate.
