Has anyone got any pics or more info on the IP Engineering "Fury"?
Here's an article I scanned a number of years ago from an even older magazine of my Dad's. The pics didn't scan too well in B&W

"The engine was made by me as this is what I used to design and manufacture small batches of specials and competition model aero engines I used an os 10 crankcase and car pull start fitted with a long stroke to be able to run at low revs and new piston and cylinder running compression ignition produced a nice pop pop exhaust note. The drive train is a tethered model car clutch running though a worm and wheel gear. It was decided to have no reverse because the space allowed in a small 040 loco which was the prototype body shape to the later Jessie loco. It was decided not to put in production because of the technicalities of the special handling of fuel and running of this engine so only one was made"

That's a very interesting loco.. It's a small chassis and the motor with clutch and drive fits very nicely in the outline.. The big question I have seeing this, is how does it cope with the heat of the motor? There is no propellor forcing wind through the ribs.. Another big question would be about the noise. I imagine this outline with a small 4 stroke engine to reduce the fumes and a healthy silencer to keep the noise acceptable, when it doesn't overheat it would be a very nice addition to any live steam layout.
