I asked IP engineering about the motor and he said the nominal voltage of the supplied motor is 4.8 volts. I run mine on 4 AA cells with a deltang receiver. No problems

I agree with Peter's comments. Very nice all round.

Luggage added to the roof rack, and tied down with "ship rigging", none of the items are glued, truckers hitches used where possible:

Love the luggage, I just wish I could remember how to tie truckers hitches.

What a beauty! The lettering and crest finish it off nicely. Are they transfers?
Unlike Peter, I've not forgotten how to tie truckers hitches - I've never known how to tie them, but always wanted to learn how.

For those who may want authentic 'ropework' on their railway, this page shows the truckers hitch step by step.https://www.animatedknots.com/truckers-hitch-knot

I was taught as part of my class 1 HGV training course, but like all things, if you don't use the skill it is soon forgotten. Watching the link above, I'm surprised I was able to learn in the first place!

I was also taught as part of my HGV training, though my half hitches are next to railing and not the loop :)

Sorry, just noticed you said you'd applied decals. I assume, as the crest includes white, that you get them printed professionally or do you print them yourself on to self adhesive white vinyl?

Rik, I use a guy called Stan Cedarleaf in the USA. He is quite prompt, and if you have a good idea what you want with little or no design work it is quick. I am now on my second order, for my first order from initial contact to order being posted was less than a week, and the good arrive 10 days later, the second order two day, but post took 21 days. An A4 sheet with white and gold $58.00, paid via PayPal.

Rik, as a cheaper ( cheapskate?) alternative to printing on white vinyl, you can also get white waterslide film, which works quite well. You just need to make sure that if usinga laser printer it is well set/cooled before attemptng to use it or if using inkjet, it needs to be left at least 24 hours and then given several coats of varnish to seal it before getting it anywhere near water!
I've just done one for my Wickham Trolley ( not long now....!)

Thanks guys. I've been meaning to get some decent decals for my stock. I've tried vinyl which is ok, if viewed from a distance with eyes half closed. I might try decal printing paper - thanks for the tip, Philip. But if all else fails, I'll give Cedarleaf a try.

Rik I do have decal (ink-jet) printing paper, water-slide (clear and white) and also rub-on, they are okay, but IMHO some colours come out "thin" and after lacquering before applying can have thick edges. Its all right for one-off, but I the professional ones take some beating.

Thanks chaps. Those on the railbus do indeed look splendid. As Eric Morecambe would say, "You can't see the join".
