Faller mini play train

Post by jaypalmer » Tue Oct 01, 2019 8:53 pm

I got a faller play train compleate set 3515.. bought a while ago as it looks pretty. not doing to much to it except a driver which will be female of course, at the moment its running on a C size battery but I am going to radio control it maybe possibly. I can see some people not liking it but I like it and I feel thats what matters more, I do have 2 railcars as well which are both butchered about a little..

Over the years i have collected quit a few "toy trains" and worked on them for our line. They turn out to my mind ok. When I get more time I will put some on hear. I have one son into garden railway and the other into stationary engines so you see we are quite busy.

I really like the Faller Play Train stuff - the whole aesthetic just really works, I think. There's some lovely Faller-based stuff here: http://www.xn--gunnar-grbel-djb.de/html ... arama.html

I've never owned one of these particular sets, but have always liked the look of them. I'm gradually getting rid of (well, contemplating getting rid of...) a lot of my freelance stuff to make space and money for more Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog models, but I'll never sell my Faller railcar...

Cheers,

Andrew.

No, the images aren't showing properly at all, just a large expanse of nothing with a grey no entry sign in the centre!

Jay,
I'm not sure what you are doing to insert/upload pictures, but all you need to do is simply drag and drop it into your post , and then on the attachments tab at the bottom of the page, click on 'place inline'.

It seems that you are storing your pictures on Google, and it wouldn't let me see the picture using just the URL directly in Firefox, so I guess the problem may possibly be a restriction that they place on sharing, but thats beyond me I'm afraid. I'm sure Tom will be able to clear things up in due course.

And this is the railbus box, I have to get photos of the actual railbus, I have 2 of these and plan to radio control one and tow the other, they are also going to be repainted in my colors,of which I am unsure but likely to be a light purple with the see through roof

I also have one of those intercity sets awaiting conversion to a railbus. Found cheap on eBay.

Huzzah! This time I can see your pictures
I too have one of the railbuses (although not with a see through roof). I started remodelling it about 4 years ago - still waiting for a 'round tuit' to finish it

Glad you got the piccys sorted Jay, well done

Yep, I've got two of those as well, one powered with RC and the other pulled/pushed. One of them also had a transparent roof... before the rattle can came out to play! :D

Well 1st pic is a Faller tender steam loco, its got 2.4ghz radio stuff in it and works ok but is a bit slow, needs centre buffers.
2nd and 3rd pic is the railbus's, I have decided for now to just radio control one of them as I wanted to get 2 power bogies on 1 railbus and the 2nd to just be push along behind it, so far it has 2 power ones on 1 and i just need to wire it and test it, a bit of drilling and cutting was required and this now resulted in a broken nail, shock horror!!!

Love the railbusses, nice find. Sorry about the nail, goes with the territory unfortunately. I do try and be careful but my fingers are littered with scars, burns and grazes, but least I still have them all! :D
