HGLW - Loco build and rc installation
Re: HGLW - Loco build and rc installation
Interesting idea, Greg. I've considered ways of retaining the reliability but reducing the visual impact - eg by making the loop out of wire or brass strip and relying on the centre buffer for the push. But some of the curves on my railway are quite tight and so I'd end up with the dreaded buffer-lock.

Hi folks
The weekend weather afforded an opportunity to get out into the garden. Thought I'd give HGLW (temporary name) a chance to strut her stuff. Adds an extra dimension to shunting operations at Peckforton station. A few minor tweaks needed - a bit more weight and I need to widen the back-to-backs as she can slip down where the track gauge widens on some points to accommodate the point blades (see if you can spot her doing a neat little curtsey). Otherwise, pleased to see how well she performs.

Very nicely done Rik, low angle shots make all the difference to the scene.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: HGLW - Loco build and rc installation
Second that Rik, the low angle makes you feel has if your'e really there.

Thanks folks. Probably twice as much footage lying on the virtual cutting room floor. Some shots just didn't look right. Though I wish I'd now got a shot of the pickup goods departing and HGLW returning to the sidings - alternatively, you could say it's like one of those films with an ambiguous ending .....

I love your railway Rik, your backdrops are so beguiling that I really don't see lgb couplings. I wouldn't bother to change them but I can see the challenge of developing the Peckforton patent would be enjoyable.

I agree regarding the couplings, they are reliable and work.

It is a nice smooth runing little loco, well done.

I wasn' sure what Tom was on about...until I saw the log wagons being shunted directly towards the cameratom_tom_go wrote: โWed May 09, 2018 4:52 pm If you want to change something Rik get rid of the plastic log loads on your wagons
