San Francisco Cable car.

Post by Tony Bird » Mon Mar 26, 2018 5:45 pm

Hi,

Last week in one of my charity shop visits I bought a wooden musical box in the shape of a San Francisco Cable car. As on several occasions I have ridden these cable cars I thought it would be fun to converted into battery powered model.
As bought for £3.49.

It was taken apart to remove the musical box and cut a hole for the motor and battery compartment. One of my standard aluminium channel chassis was made.

Though the decals were carefully removed they weren't replaced as it was thought to look better without them.
Finished except for some wiring.

Hi Tony,
I'm surprised you didn't embark on a project to lay a moving cable between the tracks!

Hi,

I decided to make a new chassis for the cable car that could accommodate more cells that would either a longer running time or R/C to be fitted to this end the new chassis has it motor off-set.
