WHR / FR diesel kits.

Post by River Lin » Mon Feb 26, 2018 3:21 pm

Hi all.
Can anybody give info of where to buy kits to make up any of the diesels running on WHR or FR . Large or small.
I seem to remember some of the ' Castles' or even 'Vale of Ffestiniog'. I have some B class waggon kits that will need pulling.

Upnor Castle, Castell Caernarfon and Vale of Ffestiniog "scratch aid" kits are available from Worsley Works: http://www.worsleyworks.co.uk

Peter Yatton does VoF and its WHR twin. At some point, I'll get one because those are meant to be very powerful especially the 4 motor versions. I have heard a rumour that Swift Sixteen were working on an FR diesel at some point plus the PDF Models Baldwin is in theory convertible into Moelwyn (I think).

Hi both and thanks.
Seems I have a choice between Worsley metal and Yatton wood. I have emailed Yatton but heard nothing back yet. They seemed to have booked a place at Peterborough so I will see if they have examples there to look at.

Yatton are not always the quickest at returning emails.

The kits that they produce are rather good and well worth the money.

Worsley works stuff is also good but as Tony said it is only a 'scratch aid' rather than a full kit.
