Loco No. 1 is silent no more!

Post by ge_rik » Sun Jun 04, 2017 7:32 pm

The first UK-based loco on the PLR (a Peckett, constructed from a GRS kit) has just been equipped with a Phoenix sound card (bought on eBay), after nine years of silence. Must say I am impressed with the card - though not with the price they are when new!

Many thanks to Phil Partridge my successor at http://rctrains.co.uk/ for reprogramming the card from a rather hefty sounding USA diesel to something more appropriate for the Peckforton Light Railway.

Brilliant Rik, very convincing.

You just need to fit a steam generator in there somewhere ;)

As usual Rik, lovely job on that sound - another brilliant video. I really like the realism of your line - it looks like it's been there forever :)
Garden railways don't run on steam or electric rather wine and Jedi master level patience

Wonderful stuff Rik, good sound effects and beautiful scenic video. You seem to have priority when it comes to fine weather too.

Thanks Tom, James and Peter for such encouraging feedback. I like experimenting with different viewpoints - tried a couple of variations on this video. Nice to hear they seem to have gone down well.

PS - Rained here all day today, Peter. Looks like payback time!
