Does anyone know where I can get a live steam model of Corris No 4/7? Or a Kerr Stuart Tattoo that I can make look like No 7. My significan other half has just passed her Cleaners ticket and is well on the way to passing as a fire(wo)man, and my parents and I think it'd make a great birthday present for her.

Cheapest bet is an accucraft excelsior corrisified. I beleive writescale make one as well.

and the wrightscale ones only make good mantle peice orniments, unless your willing to take it apart and start again. They are worse runners than rocket mamods!

That's an interesting statement as I was looking at ordering one!! Just out of interest have you experience of one? I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Corris No.4 particularly and Wrightscale locos generally. Thanks.

By the way, with Roundhouse releasing a 'Tom Rolt' maybe for the future they will continue to consider smaller locos. How about a Corris No.1, 2 or 3? I'd want one.

I have experienced 2 of these locos both need some seriours fettling before they will run anywhere near scale speed!
Although the wrightscale wrens seem to run faultlessly :?

As for corris 1,2and3 I know 2 people that make them!

As for RH and small locos, I think you may find this is the first and last. they have found it a real bu**er to get it to fit 45mm and think it will be quickly discontinued

Your dad being one of them - I have one of his locos which co-incidentally carries the same name as yours on here! And the other person building, if you can? Any spaces in the order books? I know that Steve's are very limited editions and I can't seem to get near another loco!!

Yes, hi Matt. My Sir Haydn still runs beautifully (complete with driver figure, of course!!) Didn't know that Peter Angus was building them. Is that with a 'steam motor'? What are they like? Rough idea of price?

I have quite a few items of the Atropos Corris range (building a coach at the moment, between many other things so slow progress!!) but have nothing to pull the stock.

I put my name down for a Roundhouse Tom Rolt at Stoneleigh (as I couldn't get an Acton version) and requested the 'correct' paint colour which caused some consternation. After some persuasion they agreed at an additional cost of £50. Since then they have added it to the 'standard' range and so that saves me the 50 quid!

No, roundhouse bertie chassis and around the £1,350 mark. As he has taken dads ideas they put their heads together and charge around the same amount.

Its a shame RH havn't fully detailed the tom rolt, although i am going to offer the service of fully detailing them as well as the lining ( not that horrible lining it sports now thow. those fancy corners are horrid! )

dad has also built an edward thomas to scale, I want him to build me a corris 4, he has said he will. but we'll see. If he builds one he'll build 3

I saw the Edward Thomas and really wanted one but again limited availability! That was built 'with' Geoff Munday, wasn't it?

Well, you've put me off the Wrightscale No 4 which is disappointing but I trust fully your judgement. So if you do manage to persuade your dad, and there's one available, I'll be awaiting the call!!!

No problem. We have had many a phone call about the wrightscale ones asking if we could 'have a look' and have seen two 'run' of a fashion. but they really seem to be mamods. they are also underscale! as they are build as if 32mm is 2'3" which i find strange.

I did wonder about them which is why I haven't placed an order before now. There was something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The other thing is that you rarely if ever see Wrightscale locos running - certainly not the pre-cursor of No 4, the Tattoo.

I'm going to contact Peter Angus to see if I can get a No 3, probably a long, long, long wait though!
