RH Katie - brass bonnet

Post by CVLR » Wed Dec 13, 2017 12:57 pm

OK, I'll get this out of the way first. I know it's rare for a full size narrow guage loco to have a brass dome / safety valve bonnet but I don't care. It's my loco, my railway and I like a bit of bling, so neh... ;)

RH don't appear to make a brass bonnet for Katie so where did you guys who have one get it from? Or is it a case of giving the OE one a Nitromors bath?

Ta in advance. :D
What's this button do then? ooops.....

If you ring them up they can send you an unpainted one or you could strip the paint off the one you have?

Never occured to me fo call them for an unpainted one as I assumed they'd all be allocated to kits or complete locos. Worth a try though, thanks. :D

At least with a polished one, you have the choice to change when you fancy it. Some full size engines have alternative domes such as Earl of Merioneth; the polished domes are used in the summer whilst the original painted ones are used during the winter
