The display case was delivered this morning. After a 4 year build a display case is a must! I've used this company many times over many years, this is the 7th one I've had. They do a really good job. I always go for the same style http://www.displaycase.co.nz/
Thank you lads! The smell was lovely! No filming yet, it was very stop and start, building up pressure, and running low on steam. Not helped by pumping too much into the boiler - the crown sheet was well covered Very little ash came through into the pan. I need to learn how to fire it. Not too much ash came into the smokebox either, I may need more blast
Had a great run on the rolling road yesterday. It's a good way to observe what's going on. I've downsized the exhaust nozzle from 2.0 to 1.5mm, but I may go further as exhaust is not as effective as blower at my speeds, and it's a shame to run the blower all the time. I'm using coconut based BBQ briquettes as fuel. The first run on the line a few days ago I filled the firebox and then lit with the blowtorch for top down burning. This time I lit individual pieces with the blowtorch and dropped them into the firebox (it's deep) for the first layer on the grate. With this "charcoal" very little suction is needed for them to catch alight and my weak little homemade fan is fine. After a while the blower can take over and this generates a lot of heat. I'm getting ash out of the funnel
