This grubby girl is off to a Kent 16mm NGM meet soon so I thought I would sort out any paint chips (easily done on a loco that is meant to look 'used').

The wheels were a bit chipped as well and as I am bored of watching plain disc wheels on locos I decided they needed some colour:

They are slightly weathered so that you can now see the wheels rotating with all the scratch marks and dirt wheels attract.

Looks lovely Tom! The weathered look of it really adds a bit of character to it. :thumbright:
"So what's yer name?" asked the driver.
"Charlie, sir."
"I don't address my firemen by their Christian names, son. Give me your surname."
"Darling, sir."
"Okay, Charlie, start shoveling."

She's lovely. I love the Lady Anne locomotives. Your coal fired Riverdale must be, for me, the ultimate. Black too. ATM that's my preferred colour.

Black for a coal fired loco in this scale is a must as everything get's so hot and dirty you will always be wanting to touch her up, paintwork wise of course.

Don’t you think that’s the same with Gas fired Tom, boiler’s do get hot with them too don’t they, so black is the "IN” colour…… :thumbright:

Black in combination with stainless steel and brass fittings look great. I really like the charm of this locomotive :thumbright:

I didn't take any photos or video myself so created this little video with what I got from other Kent 16mm NGM members:

Looking good! That Charles is a lovely engine, but looks positively toy-like compared to your loco.

Nice-looking line too, I like the canal boat - I shall enjoy watching the video when I have a little more time...

Cheers,

Andrew.

Lovely shots there, shame there isn't more to show. A great occasion no doubt and plenty of railway locos and stock to keep everyone very happy!
