Post by smolden52 » Sun Jul 10, 2022 1:26 pm

hello,
thanks for this forum. I luckily found an ng16 for sale, un used ,without carton or manual. How does one go about re-guaging the engine from 32 to 45 mm? any help, or insight on this procedure would be appreciated. thank you.

Hi and welcome.
Not really my forte, but the Accucraft Manual is at http://www.accucraft.uk.com/content/upl ... ARRATT.pdf and the re-gauging intructions are on page 10

With all those wheels, it takes a while. Use Allen key supplied, loosen grub screw, slide wheel down axle, tighten grub screw back in to the drilled hole in the axle.

Check the gas tank too. They were / should have been replaced when the locos were new. You may have to contact Accucraft with the serial number to get a free replacement.

Also, don't expect miracles from it. They all need to have the exhaust piping modified to make them run well. Batch 3 locos (the ones that have the rear engine not superheated and strengthening strips over the cab doors) also need a modification to the lubricator to get optimum performance.
