Hi, I seem to be having problems with wick material, I'm not convinced this modern glass strand stuff is any good for any more than one or two runs, I've tested two of my locos and they were both shy for steam, one an internally fired and the other external. The flame is there but not producing enough heat I think the wick has burnt to a smaller size already. Does anyone have any better suggestions for a good wick material?
Regards John

Re: Wick Material
Hi John, I've used the glass fibre wick since 2005 and it's held up well. You can re-pack the burner and raise/lower the wick height to get the flame right. I always extinguish the burners rather than let them burn down when meths runs out. "Just The Ticket" model supplies company sells a carbon fibre type wick.
Best wishes,
Dave
