Best source for styrene (HIPS) sheet?

Post by ge_rik » Fri Feb 01, 2019 2:21 pm

I know this has come up before, but after searching the forum for a good while, I've not found an answer.

I'm after some A3 sheets of white styrene (1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm thick) as my stocks are running low. I can't remember where I got my last supplies from but I know it was reasonably inexpensive. Searching on eBay seems to unearth sources at what I consider to be silly prices - either that or only A4 sized.

Anyone know of a decent source of supply?

Rik,
I've got my last couple of purchases from www.homecrafts.co.uk/high-impact-polystyrene-sheets. They do large sheets, which aren't always easy to come by, and a range of colours, although white uis often out of stock in my experience.

Homecrafts are my preferred supplier too and offer free delivery above £40.00 (if I remember correctly?) which is easily achieved when buying several of the thicker sheets. Packing is always first class and delivery prompt.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

With that endorsement, I feel confident they are likely to be the best.

The sheet size of 915 x 610 mm is almost bigger than my workbench.

I get my ‘plasticard’, in A3 sheets from https://www.stationroadbaseboards.co.uk ... lastic.htm

I don’t usually spend more than about £30 an order (including postage), and you can get quite a lot for this sum.
