Roundhouse Lady Anne boiler question

Post by tom_tom_go » Fri Dec 28, 2018 3:24 pm

I have a friend's older Lady Anne (I believe it's a Mk3 but an early one) and would like to know what this hole is for where the pictured bolt was removed from?

Pure guess.
Could it be a level plug?
My Brick has one, unscrew a few turns and fill until dripping commences.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!

Jim is correct. Many locos have had the plug replaced with a suitable 1/4 x 40 fitting to allow boiler blow down and/or water filling while in steam.

Thanks chaps.

Do Roundhouse sell a top system for this still or does it have to be made?

Roundhouse never did sell them, but Brandbright did. However, they stopped making them years ago and have told me they have no plans to reintroduce them to their range.

Yours truly had one and needed another, sent it to a nice man, and he is making/has made a batch of them. See http://www.ita-shop.co.uk/ourshop/prod_ ... -1999.html
