I'd like to relocate the gas tank into a tender, and obviously need some flexibility in the connection.
My initial thought is to cut the feed, leaving enough copper on the burner to reach the back of the footplate, and then extend it with silicon fuel line to reach back into the tender. Silicon to copper unions would be miniature hose clips, with miniature pipe clips holding the copper pipe to the floor at each end.
My reasoning is it only needs to handle the back pressure from the jet.
I should also say the tank is only the size of a Dream Steam unit, so really no bigger than an old table lighter, so I'm taking a view that if I test it outside how wrong could it go?

It sounds okay to me.
Silicone tubing is fine as a gas pipe.
Check your joints with soapy water once it is all assembled.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!
