I may be in a position to buy some new track for my new line when we move and I was wondering is MSS 32mm Track compatible with Peco sm32 track.
It is about 20 yards that I may be able to buy at a price I think is brilliant. Itβs a friend of one of the son-laws whoβs is selling it because he now lives in a 1st floor flat with no access to a garden.

Re: MSS Track compatible with Peco
I'm afraid it isn't really, the Mamod track is joined by connecting tags cast into the track and the joints are staggered, so to join to anything else you have to cut the rail ends square for a start. Then the height of the Mamod rail is much less then Peco as the Mamod sleepers are much thinner, and the shape of the Mamod rail also doesn't really allow fishplates to be fitted. I've got Mamod to Peco joints in the quarry area of my line but they aren't pretty and not suitable for anything other then very loco speeds.
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
