Odd track gauge
I have been offered some yard lengths of track by a friend who thought it was 32mm gauge. Unfortunately, although about the same rail profile as SM32, it is only 24mm gauge. What could that be used for?

Re: Odd track gauge
The abandoned even-narrower connecting branch line?
Or be prototypical: take the rails off the sleepers, cut into short lengths and bingo! Lineside fence posts.
(Or was that not what you meant?)

Re: Odd track gauge
Neat ideas for use of the track but, not exactly the answer to my question. I was more curious as to its intended use by the manufacturer (no names on the plastic moulded sleepers) and what scale it would be?

Closest I can think of is S Guage or 3/16ths. Track is 22.5mm. I'm not aware of any manufacturers though.

Re: Odd track gauge
There is a scale called OJ used in Japan for modelling their 3'6" gauge trains, which uses a scale of 1:45 on 24mm gauge track. It has some commercial support in Japan, including flex track, which is possibly the story behind the track your friend has.
Your friend won't be the first person confused by the plethora of narrow gauge scales and the inability of the model railway hobby to clearly distinguish between scale and gauge.

Graeme
