Hi Folks,

I'm still on the look-out for a 32mm battery RC loco - preferably with sound but not essential

Cheers

Are you looking for steam or diesel outline ? Ready to run, 2nd hand or to build from a kit of parts ? There are a tremendous range of options and sources out there that fit that description.

Second hand is not always the best way to go as you don't always know what you are getting and how far through it's working life it may be, how much use it's had, or how well it's been put together.

Are you looking for diesel or steam outline?

Is it for hauling BIG loads or just for shunting?

Does the build material matter? (I.E. Brass, steel, 3D printed, wood, cardboard etc)

How small or large would you prefer? (I.E. small diesel shunter to a Double Fairlie?)

Not my first rodeo, nor my first 16mm loco, but appreciate the advice. Just generally looking for what may be available second hand

Hi Chris

I was not implying that you are new to the hobby?? Just asking what you might be looking for or your general interest. Never mind. :?:

Sorry, in a rush today and that may have come across much more testy then intended!

Construction isn't important but ideally durable so my son can get involved - a big block of plastic is much preferred to some delicate brass! Our line (as it will be) won't be a heavy hauler, so as long as it can trundle with a few wagons up a slight incline it should be fine - not planning on it being a thunderbird loco yet!

Not seen much battery steam outline in 32mm before, so was looking for a diesel but certainly not wedded to that, just want something I can start getting by son into the hobby with - he's 5 and has additional needs

Hi Chris
Secondhand battery locos do come up from time to time on eBay but you have to be quick as they tend to be snapped up.
Garden Railway Specialists get secondhand stuff, but their prices tend to be above eBay - eg https://www.grsuk.com/shop/The-Loco-has ... -Pi-M17314
https://www.grsuk.com/shop/GRS-K1-Garra ... oon-M15251

An alternative is to invest in an HGLW kit. They are very quick and easy to construct and are quite robust.
