Just came across the Timpdon r/c set up I was going to fit in the loco when I originally planned the project. Includes everything you need. Happy to include this with the loco and chassis above as I'm having a clear out!

Such a good price, I am surprised this is still here. I don't have the money, but if I did, it would already be gone.

I might have been tempted if it was 45mm gauge. But do I really need another loco?

I guess people aren't so keen on building kits these days with so much relatively inexpensive rtr on the market. There was a build article in Garden Rail a few years ago and the writer had made a lovely job of it. My interests have changed and sadly I haven't the time/motivation to spend on this project.

Is this still available, and if so, is it the later kit which I think has a pre-formed tank?

Hi Phil
Yes and yes! Still available and the saddle tank is preformed plastic - injection moulded I guess.

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis
If I was in the market for yet another loco I would bite your hand off for this one! Unfortunately, I have more than enough to cope with, so it's not for me this time. However, I do have one of those GRS chassis and I agree it is a superb runner and very well made. The motor is rated at 12-24v but mine operates very well on 8 AA rechargeable batteries (9.6v) with no problems.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis
Mmmm no spare money just yet. Like the others I would be first in the queue for it. I need another battery r/c steamer badly.

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis
I agree with Peter ( and others), its a nice simple and easy chassis to work with, although I have no experience of the body kit.Peter Butler wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 3:53 pmI do have one of those GRS chassis and I agree it is a superb runner and very well made.
I used the chassis in my 'Octavius' build. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10132&p=119057#p119057

Just seen your loco Phillip. Now that is a mighty fine engine indeed. I love it badly.......philipy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:45 amI agree with Peter ( and others), its a nice simple and easy chassis to work with, although I have no experience of the body kit.Peter Butler wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 3:53 pmI do have one of those GRS chassis and I agree it is a superb runner and very well made.

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis
May I ask, does the cab or any other of the parts have any warps at all? I bought one of these before (a Pecket), new in the box but secondhand and it was so badly warped I have to build my own body work for it. As you can understand I am somewhat wary of GRS body kits now.
My profile picture is the kit in question, it uses the same chassis (which is great) but the body I ended up making one in brass.
Many thanks
