True scale dewinton
True scale dewinton
I have always liked dewinton style locos but have always looked at most models with a slight disapointment. Most of the ones i have seen are always oversize and have lost the charm of the originals. So I set out to build a scale model of an original. The actual loco was finished in a month and has taken about 5 months to get it to nearly work, the hazards of building something this small. I will put some pictures in once I do some

A pcture as promised. This was taken a while back and hasnt got some oof the latter refinements on. It has ahd a new boiler fitted today with a bigger flue which should help air circulation, but hasnt got a chimney yet.

update time. A new boielr with a larger flue has been made and it raises steam quite happily now and even ran all be it slowly. This morning dad made a new chimney( cos hes like that) and after putting it on, the engine runs quite well now and even ran on the track for the first time in weeks. Expect a video in the next few days

Its that time again folks. As you saw in the last (badly edited) video, Falcon was nearly running but not really. So after a little more fiddling i ended up with this, and yes it does pop and bang (barks too)

the can is there to keep the lagging on. I had to lag the boiler as there was just too much heat being lost from the sides, and makes a huge difference. The little loco is one i made from bits nothing special but runs well
