Bogie brake van

Post by tom_tom_go » Tue Apr 14, 2015 7:27 pm

Got this off eBay recently, quite pleased with it:

I did not think something this big would work on my small line but it goes round quite well and the overhang on the tight curves is not as bad as I expected.

First mods will be to get rid of the buffers for choppers, cut down the bogies so there is no gap between the wheels/axle boxes and knock up the bits that are missing (steps mainly).

Very nice! That's a nice catch. It looks well already and your proposed modifications sound like they will put a real polish on it.

Do keep us updated.

You DO realise the steps might be missing for a reason.............. like overhangs..................

The wheels can be removed as before:

That is a rather splendid looking wagon you have got yourself there.
IMHO it would go nicely as the tool wagon/brake van for a brakedown train.
Is it a kit bash or scratchbuilt?
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!

Keep tidying it up tom, Its a GRS L&B van 23 by the looks of it :)
If it can be made full scale it can be made 16mm
