Fire pit... yes it has been tested with the biggest fire possible and plastic tubes sticking up from track level behind it so it shouldn't melt the trains!

Smart looking brickwork. Isn't it amazing how many skills there are involved in garden railway modelling?

I cannot claim credit for the brickwork, the same guy that did the block paving was swiftly invited back to lay those bricks

Great looking build and the track looks fantastic, although electric is far beyond me, i have trouble wiring a plug, (not really) but i do find electric very daunting, but can’t wait to see a video of your brilliant layout.

The plants look good, have you got any neighbours that might let you take a few cuttings of any ground cover, some may have something that won’t take the garden over, if you don’t ask you don’t get..lol. :) :)

Hi Steve,

As Rod rightly points out, the planting looks good. I lok forward to seeing some trains trundling through between them. :thumbright:

Station platform progress:

1st attempt using well sealed and painted plywood, Ikea draw separators as fencing and playmobile lights.

There are two platforms, one of them is finished as below.

I looked up those lamps you are using and they are a nice design as the battery is housed inside the base.

How big are they?

Those ikea draw separators look a good investment
