Hi. I've got the money to buy a Edrig. The problem is that my mum thinks that its a waste of money, and that I shuold stick to what I've got at the moment, which isn't much.

Yeah. I'm currently trying to persaude her to let me buy an IP engineering battery loco kit. She's said that if I can make the money to buy it, I can buy it.
Look out for Garden Rail article number 3!

I'm getting one this year!!!
Maroon with R/C!!
Matt, tell your mum, from me, that they are not a waste of money and these live steamers hold there value nearly 100%! You see some on Ebay go for the same price as they would be new!!! Anyway, why not buy one if you have the money, if it's your money, it's your money! Do what ya like! That's what I do anyway!

Godd advice, but I've tried telling her the good points, and the answer that oftern comes back is "well what about the ones you've got at the moment?"
It gets really annoying.

SJ: I want Maroon, cus everyone else has a GWR green one! So it'll stand out at steam-ups and you can tell whose is whose!!!!
Matt: well, tell her that the ones at the moment are not as good as the Edrig, and you need a bette loco for... (ie To haul longer trains!)
I had to persuade my mum why I was going to build a railway. I just told her, what was the point of sewing nice patterns?!!!

I want to get lining from Locolines (Lightline I can't afford!), and a chuff pipe, water top up and gas gontrol dummy brake from Milton Works. Then fit R/C to the regulator if I can.
