Lineside speedlimit signs - how big are they?

Post by alan2525 » Sat Aug 23, 2008 2:07 pm

I was going to cutout some limit signs for a bit of trackside detailing. I just wondered if anyone on here over the Bank Holiday weekend might be either volunteering or visiting a garden railway and could get a shot of one with someone in the picture for scale?

Even better would be a pic and a rough measure up with a tape measure!

I'd be happy to send a couple of the finished signs as a thankyou for the trouble!

This is the kind of thing I mean:

Assuming these people have got it about right...

66mm is about 1.25m in real life. Does that sound about right.

I would guess that the number would be at about eye level for the driver. :?

Maybe you should listen to someone that has the first idea though!

I have some of those lineside delights ones, they are a bit small next to larger locos, but look about right as true 16mm scale...
