The nice thing about "proper" Mamods was that as they were meths fired, they'd run in any sort of cold weather. I've just bought a can of "mix" to get me through the winter.............

Those pictures of that mamod going through the snow just looks so right!

wehre those coaches made of card by the way?

Im thinking about making a snowplough for my Edrig? not sure how to fit it to the locos front bufferbeam/coupling? any ideas? :|

I just folded up a bit of brass sheet the hieght of the buffer beam amd made a wee bracket that the center buffer bolts through essesntially clamping it in place.
Mind you Ive changed by buffers for brandbright types witha single large thread instead of two stupidly small screws.

Made from wood. The closed coach was one I bought second hand, probably scratch built, The open one is a Tenmille Tallilyn (sp?) kit, but with wood strip used instead of the plastic overlay for detail, and the box/gaurds van was scratch built by me.

I attached the snowplough using the holes that would normally have been used by the buffers.
It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!
