LGB 2076 "Stumpy" Overhaul

Post by GAP » Sat Jul 10, 2021 4:13 am

My LGB 2076 "Stumpy" has been given an overhaul an overhaul.
One of the cells in the battery collapsed and this drastically reduced the running time down to 2 circuits at the most.
While I had it apart to add a new battery I took the opportunity to "Australianise" it a bit making it look less European.
I basically did a repaint, some cosmetic changes, installed a new motor controller and a quality sound card.

Very nice, the new livery suits it. And I can see why you called it "Stumpy"!

Thanks,
Some "testing" has been carried out post overhaul, batteries have lasted nearly 2 hours of run time pulling a small good train.
Testing has revealed that minor tweaks to sound card are required and lights have stopped working but that is not an issue as a "Daylight Only" running order has been issued. :dontknow: :dontknow:
More testing will be required till "operation readiness" is achieved, it is forecast that at least 6 hours of testing, possibly more, will be required to achieve that state.
;) ;)
