7/8ths fun
Re: 7/8ths fun
Totally agree with Peter and Phil, that front truss is a great piece of artistic design. Waiting to see what you do for the rest of it.

Re: 7/8ths fun
a trip to the local model shop and some more plastcard purchased the very kind bloke at the model shop had saved me some 00 gauge trusses that iv used. iv very nearly finished the water pump just some painting and some roofing sheets to finish .this has been very complicated to make the wheel took me ages but its getting there now.the model will work if I put a small motor on one part to get it to turn.

Very impressive Jim. You have quite an imagination to create that structure from a pile of random bits.

Wonderful work Jim, good to hear you have a helpful local dealer who takes a personal interest too.... good business strategy!

Re: 7/8ths fun
For a timber man, you have sure mastered the use of plastic Jim. It will be good to see it painted, different colours will make the machinery stand out from the building.
Grant.
PS just noticed the rim of the flywheel, did you bend that, or find a suitable ring from somewhere?

Re: 7/8ths fun

Re: 7/8ths fun
As you say Jim - looks about right. Some potential with that van moulding!

Re: 7/8ths fun
I'd be happy with that scale too Jim, quite a bit of work to do but worth the effort.

Re: 7/8ths fun

Re: 7/8ths fun
one more evening painting the van and it should be finished. The ladder is made from plastcard and the wire was left over from lights I was fitting at work.i would like the van to have some worn sign whiting on the side but not to sure how to do this without painting it on myself.

Looking good, just the right amount of sheen without being glossy

Re: 7/8ths fun
You have made a good job of both of those projects Jim. The pump look great but I am particularly impressed with the work on the van.

Re: 7/8ths fun
Thank you for you comnents.I'm chuffed with the van painted a bit more tonight so it's just about finished just need the sign whiteing on the side.the company who make the shell make lots of different cars and vans so that's sorted all the cars etc I will need.being 7/8th there are is not a lot of off the shelf stuff to buy so having to cheat a bit by using 12th scale bits but I think it will work
