Built over winter

Post by pandsrowe » Mon Jun 06, 2016 3:27 pm

Hi all,
I built this pump house during the winter and due to the appalling recent weather I have only just had the opportunity to get it out on the railway.

Apologies about the shaky view, my first internet video using a tablet and it shows!
The sound is provided by one of ModelSounds modules and in fact sounds much better in real life than it does on the video, although one thing that I did not think about initially was the need for the sound to 'escape' from the inside of the building and I ended up by having to lift the roof by about 6mm to allow the noise to permeate to the outside.
Now that the sun is out I might be able to get on with some running of trains???

That is very nice, Phil.
The complete setting just works, with the level crossing, fences etc.
Well done.

Another related, but non railway item that just adds to the whole atmosphere. With the addition of sound and movement, nice work.

Lovely.

For a static shot like that, YouTube's image stabilization works very well.

Best wishes

A realistic looking little scene. Makes me appreciate how important infrastructure is to a railway setting. I now need a spell of wet weather to give me the opportunity to stop running trains and get into the workshop. We've been very lucky here in the NW weatherwise for the past week or so (not often I can say that).

Thanks for all your kind comments, I must admit that the building did turn out better than I had expected. I now need to encourage more plant growth to give the natural look.
I'm supposed to be having an open day for my local 16mm group this weekend and guess what the weather forecast is saying?
