2016 National Garden Railway Convention intro video

Post by Russell Miller » Sun Nov 16, 2014 8:38 pm

The introduction video for the 2016 NGRC is now available. The convention is being hosted by the Bay Area Garden Railway Society and this is BAGRS fifth time hosting the National Convention. The convention is scheduled for July 4-10, 2016 and will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center with tours throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We should have a total of around 100 layouts open before, during and after the convention!

Here is a link to the video: http://youtu.be/xrrQyUPQ7sg

Enjoy the video and I hope to see you in 2016!

I used to fly into Frisco at least twice a year. The ATC controllers always set us up too high on the circuit, it was a simple procedure on approach, with only moderate even traffic flow. The 747 type had been flying in and out for years and yet it was the same each time bazar!

Lovely place to visit with Highway one, Muir Woods, Sausalito ferry, etc. Something for everyone in this city and quite cosmopolitan. If you are thinking of going do go.

Good job you knew what you were doing, then. I hear the approach to 28L can be a little tricky. That seawall can jump up at you, even on a nice day with no wind. Or so they say.

A question: all the layouts in both videos appear to be gauge 1 - are there any 32mm gauge lines?

Good Question... I know that we have at least 2 US "O" scale garden layouts on the tours. I'm pretty sure they run on 32mm gauge track. I don't have any good photos of them to use in the videos. One is under construction now and promises to be open in July 2016 for the NGRC.
The BAGRS Live Steam oval also has one of its tracks set up as dual gauge.
