Hi Rod,
The rail bender I made many years ago from I think a redundant vertical slide. Later I made a much simpler one to bend heavier sections. A vice with flat tops to its jaws is needed and the rollers can be fitted when necessary. If you have a lathe the rollers are straight forward to make, I made quite a few as blanks and profile them when needed.

Fascinating! I really do like modified charity shop finds and this is one of the best!

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I don't have a lathe anymore. When I was going through my divorce I left it at my ex's address because I had no where to store it, then her new fella sold it because he wanted the room for his stuff....I was not a happy chappie with him or her....
