Most enjoyable Rik, interesting comparison and well edited to show the changes.

Very cleverly put together. The old and new videos were woven together so seamlessly.

I've watched it a couple of times but not really thought about the ages of the shots until I read this comment from Greg, and then something dawned on me!
I had noticed that the viaduct looks a bit bare when it first appears but then in the shot subsequently it looks much more weathered, which I sort of dismissed as a trick of the light. Having looked again I can see that there are actually several years between the shots, with loads of moss growth on the rocks at either end!
Brilliantly edited, Rik. :D

This is an example of what a garden railway should be I think. There are some other members who have equally fantastic lines and for me they are all superb and I wish I just had the room to have anyone of the members lines in our new garden. I love watching videos of these lines and although I can't replicate them I do pinch ideas from them. Hope that is okay guy's

On the video Rik you are getting to be really brilliant at making them. :salute: I watched this latest one without my ear's in (hearing aids for those who don't know what ear's are) The sound level of the music was just right, because I could hear  your commentary quite clearly and I was engrossed in the scenery so much it took me awhile to spot any changes in the years. You are that good at mixing and slicing the scenes. Thank you Rik for another superb video, I could watch them all day, but I don't think Anne would be best pleased spending 8 hours or more watching them... She is brilliant by the way and doesn't have any hangs ups with me with the time I spend with garden railways.

By the way Rik, what equipment do you use for videoing your films. The quality is excellently produced. I do have a Nikon camera and my iPhone does take some decent videos. I did have a JVC video camera a few backs, but alas it packed up....

Hi Rod
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed this latest one.

I use a fairly ancient Panasonic video camera - it was the cheapest I could find with a mike socket. This was because I was filming my visits to narrow gauge railways around the UK and wanted to overcome wind noise. I sewed myself a fluffy sleeve for my mike which is apparently called a dead kitten 😱🐆

With Covid I had to curtail my Ng railway visits and also the ones I've not visited so far are much further away and so will take a few days to visit (eg the North East, Scotland and Ireland).

Thanks for all your feedback, chaps.
I really enjoyed this one myself - comparing old and new is a great way of reminding myself that I have been doing things to improve the railway over the years. I've got another retrospective video in the pipeline which, hopefully, will be premiered next week

Another masterpiece in filming, editing and narrating. Your voice sounds so warm and casual, disguising the vast amount of preparation and construction work it has taken to create your miniature world. Thoroughly enjoyable video, again, even without popcorn!

Thanks Peter. I hadn't realised it was seven years since I originally shot a similar video. It was interesting for me to see how some sections of the line have changed in that time.

Another masterpiece of video editing Rik. Just so much to see and hear in your narrative. I have said before how much I enjoy watching your videos, I seem to see more things that I have missed every time I watch it.
Please keep on posting videos Rik, 'I know you will' I hope to one day pay a visit when Anne retires next year if that would be possible.

We don't have half a modest UK garden like you do.... :lol :lol :lol

Great video Rik, thank you.

I love how there's been a mini industrial revolution going on in your back garden over the last 7 years, with businesses cropping up all over the place. It reminds me of adverts that Colonel Stephens used to place to entice businesses to set themselves up rail-served premises alongside his lines. I'm not sure it ever worked - I don't think the KESR harvesting hay and willow (for cricket bats!) from its own embankments counts...
