Sandstone & Termite
Re: Sandstone & Termite
Wish I had the money to go down under for your Spring our Autumn/Winter…but alas it can’t be….
Looks a very interesting line indeed and some nice Locos and Rolling stock too.

Great videos Greg and especially where the locos are going around the horse shoe curve.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
You'd regret being in Sydney at present - it has rained all week since we had that last run. Oh well we needed the rain.
I have started a new thread just for Keith's Bottle Creek line, so as not to confuse with my Sandstone and Termite.

I have seen the weather in Sydney, it’s horrendous.
Thanks for the new thread Greg.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
Over summer, many of the businesses on the Sandstone and Termite close for the holidays.
So the traffic has reduced till a single van was all that was required for Sunday's Goods.
Here's a quick look at the movement.
Holidays have now ended, so hopefully traffic will increase soon.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
Great set of shots, Greg. Is the soundcard triggered by a wheel cam? It's well synched.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
Thanks, I like the sound I got. It's my own circuit design. The Bachmann 4-6-0 has a wheel cam that gives 2 chuffs per revolution. I have changed it to give 4 .tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 5:33 pm That's a great sounding sound card you are using, what is it?

Re: Sandstone & Termite
Love it Greg. The sound does remind me a lot from the days of steaming locos....The shots in the video of running behind the driver are brilliant....

Re: Sandstone & Termite
The summer holiday period is over and the industries on the SaTr have returned to work.
So there is some traffic to be moved! Here's a video of delivering logs to the Melaleuca sawmill

Re: Sandstone & Termite
That's for the comments everyone. I did wonder if it would be too boring.
Does anyone what to comment on whether some interspersed 'high level' shots would give a better idea of the shunting?

Re: Sandstone & Termite
I certainly didn't find it boring, but then as you know, shunting and train movements are my 'thing'.
Not sure if higher level shots would add anything new. However, I'm very familiar with your railway and the set up at Melaleuca, so maybe an establishing shot or two showing how all the bits fit together might be interesting for others.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
Like Rik, I didn't find it boring. Higher shots from a Drone, if that's what you are contemplating Greg, would be great I think and other members would appreciate it also maybe.

Re: Sandstone & Termite
I wasn't thinking of a drone but maybe a view from a few feet above showing the sidings layout, or even a drawing.

The only reason I thought of a drone is , Don't you have a mate who did a video with one last year...

Re: Sandstone & Termite
You've got a good memory! I did dig out the drone videos and there is a good flyover of the Melaleuca station area. Maybe use it next video
