Some signs of Spring on Haruka garden railway

Post by mymodeltrain » Mon Mar 26, 2018 11:27 pm

What a busy time of the year for cleaning and tidy up the garden railway in preparation for more fun times in Spring. Probably, I need to go to the rock place to get more gravels this weekend as the winter rains washed away the gravels. I also spent quite a lot of time recently to fix the USA trains Docksider 0-6-0 and I will describe this major overhaul work, including the installation of new LED lights, in the future. I tested it yesterday, and it ran well.

Like watching your trains on your line, can see where the rain has done it’s damage.

Glad to see that small red bush has survived (you told me what it was but I can't remember now).

These red buddings are from a dwarf Japanese maple tree; the one we talked in the past is another tropical dwarf tree; it likes heat; and has no buddings yet. It bloomed amazingly when the temperature is around 100 degrees F.

Rik, yes I made some more and I also bought one new but have no idea how to name it; it was on super sale right after the new year. The theme of that building is for winter; it looks like a town hall. I tried to cover the snow with some other color but have no idea how to remove the snowman without poking a hole in the resin. I need some more time to think.

I added thousands of pounds of gravels a year ago covering the railway very nicely; absolutely, a major makeup is needed soon.

This movie shows the level of gravels a few years ago, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X62zf587ur0&t=76s

I observed the flow of water during the rains and now I will start to use rocks and bricks to form the boundary along the tracks in those where there is a steep grade before covering the tracks with gravels again. Hope this works.
