Drifting trains

Post by tom_tom_go » Wed Jun 07, 2017 10:34 pm

I wonder if a Roundhouse Garratt can do this?

Wow Tom that is bonkers. It did make me laugh out loud though. it reminded me of that old joke when the station announcer says " the train coming in on platforms 5, 6 7 and 8 is coming in sideways". Best not let my son see this as he loves drifting cars on his console and will no doubt want to emulate it.

Thanks Dave

Thomas gets down with the kids - although I'm not sure what the fat controller would have to say about it!!!!

Interesting.
I have seen cine film of this happening at St. Albans goods yard in the 1960's. The wagon didn't get very far and I don't think it ended well.

I've seen it attempted with a Brush Type 4 - twice!

Neither ended well - apart from providing a track repair contract to the firm I was working for at the time!
