Might as well! I'd be curious to see the effects of bad paintwork

I've toned down the worst bits. It's now only noticeable under close scrutiny. I'll try and take some pictures over the weekend. Grandson's first birthday party to get out of the way first.

Doug,

Here is a picture of one of the affected areas. The lining has been applied freehand and looks like enamel over acrylic paint. The golden rule for me is don't mix paint types. The close up is cruel. The engine is in weathered condition, and viewed as a whole is quite presentable.

I have toned it down using a fibre brush, but the plan is to do a complete repaint in winter when running is less frequent.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for photo - very cringeworthy indeed, yes, a fresh coat and lineup would be a salvation indeed :)

Lovely photos, Elsecar always looks a friendly show. Nice touch with Tilley :D

Must try and make it there one year, just need to tie it in some b and b and a bit of break.

Sadly the Elescar Show is no more.

Been replaced with the Yorkshire Garden Railway show in Bradford.
Regards Graham.

Yorkshire Show is this year because Elsecar was somehow doublebooked, but many hoping for a return next year.
