Sandstone and Termite

I've had a few train running days with friends recently, so thought I'd share a few pics.
I even reopened the line to Ti-tree. Here's the derelict station.

The log train was also relocating the traction to a new camp

Thanks Greg.
I like the 3rd shot because its rare to see a layout with just a row of houses in a residential setting. We all tend to concentrate on railway, industrial and commercial buildings, with little thought as to where the local population live!

Great set of pix, Greg. I like seeing trains in their background settings like this.
Showing my ignorance here, is a Hunter-Garratt a real prototype or your take on a Garratt?

I agree with Rik, great set of photos… I like the one with the Traction engine, it looks so real.

Rik
I'm indulging my fantasy, assuming that my hero, HW Garratt, licensed the SaTR to build Garratts as he did Beyer Peacock et al.
And since I designed and built them, they are Hunter-Garratts.

WHO KNOWS WHAT GOES ON WITH ATTACHING PICS.

Here's the other Hunter-Garratt - "Big Blue"- sitting at Melaleuca.
The attachment bigblu.JPG is no longer available
Big Blue is based on two Bachmann big haulers, cut down to 2-6-0s. RC and LiPo battery in boiler. Sound systems in each tank.

and a smaller loco, Ernie, shunting coal hoppers at Sandstone.

Ernie (for grandson #2) is freelance loosely based on sugar cane locos.

I like to see the traditional Aussie architecture of the houses and pub. Ti Tree station is a beauty too. With lights in the station building looks like you are set up for some night running!

Greg, is this what is happening to you when adding attachments?

https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic ... 33&t=11852

If so I will implement the fix if it's becoming a common problem.

Lovely photos Greg, I love the platform at Ti Tree, wish I could capture that look.

Seems a similar problem that Rik had.
All I know is that I 'previewed' it and both pics and text were OK. When I 'submitted' , I got what you see - one pic and an error saying THAT pic could not be found, and the 2nd pic not shown at all.

I did check that my version of Firefox is the most recent. (60.0.1). I will post a few more pics later to check your fix works. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment.
Partly as a test of posting 2 pics, here's a night time pic of Ti-tree station (when it had a different platform layout, with timber front)

and the pic I tried to post yesterday of 'Ernie' loco shunting coal hoppers at Sandstone.

Seems that Tom's fixed the picture preview problem!

I like the picture of Ernie and it's wagons too. The low view point is great.

Here's another 2 pics to round off the 'recent' activity.

There's a crowd at the end of Sandstone station. (You'll have to watch the video to see why..)
I wonder if Rik can read the sign under the station nameboard. (after all our railways are only 13k km apart)

Loco 24 is a 4-4-0 built on a diesel motor block, but using Bachmann big hauler wheels. The Headquarters of the line is in the background.

I flicked down the page as it first loaded and happened to stop with that pic centre screen, so that was actually the first thing that registered and my immediate thought was "That's gonna be a long hike!"

I certainly can read the sign, Greg. I must reciprocate. I'm just carrying out some redevelopment work at Beeston Market (as well as at Peckforton) and so will be an ideal opportunity.

Sort of like doing "Sister Cities" (or do you call it 'twinning"?
Since the PLR is near the Sandstone Trail and I have a Sandstone station, it was a natural idea to join them.

It is “Twinning” Greg you are correct.
