As requested ...
In the kind replies to my introduction I was asked to share photos of my new railway. So here are some snaps of the project in its first week. As you can see, I have yet to do the ballasting. I wanted to get the track right and smooth before doing it and other things have taken priority.
The little green van is a Bug Box converted to a luggage van to hold the batteries and R/C gear.

What a lovely railway!
The planting is coming along nicely and creates a lovely setting for the railway.
Very sensible to get the top and line settled and proven before making the track solid by ballasting.

"Smith! Why do you only come to work four days a week?
"'cause I can't manage on three gaffer!"

Have to agree with Andrew, the planting in that second shot is lovely. Are you the gardener?
